Our Student Board
A dedicated student board has been established to spearhead the organization and execution of events and opportunities for all members. Our organization takes pride in its robust team of representatives, each playing a pivotal role in ensuring a successful year. Collaborating with industry professionals, the team organizes dozens of events every semester to provide our students with valuable experiences. Kyle Lance
Hello, everyone! My name is Kyle Lance and I will be serving as your President for the 2024-2025 academic year. I am a Senior Construction Management major with a Business minor. I will be serving once again as the Team Lead of the NAHB Productions student competition while also providing assistance with the NAHB Customs, ASC, DBIA, OCA, and NASTT student competitions/conferences. Since January 2024, I have worked for Marous Brothers Construction as a Project Engineering Intern. Outside of work, school, and competitions, I am a major Film Junkie along with having interests in Photography, Drones, Golf, and Miscellaneous Collecting Habits. Hello! My name is Jared Bradford, I am a junior in the Kent State Construction Management program, as well as the 2024-25 CMSO Vice President. This year I competed on the ASC, Appalachian Service Project, and OCA competition Teams. I completed my spring internship with Keller North America and I will be interning for a third summer with Simonson Construction Services Inc. Greetings, everyone! I'm Edison Chen, honored to step into the role of CMSO Treasurer for the upcoming academic year of 2024-2025. As a Junior, I'm thrilled to lend my support in assisting the NAHB Productions Student Competition. I am currently co-oping for Indepence Construction. Outside of school and work, I am a big fanatic for drones, VR, working out, photography, and more recently videography. My name is Kelsey, and I am a senior managerial marketing major with a minor in human resource management. I am super excited to be on the CMSO board to start introducing the organization to the business school to get more students involved! I am also on the executive board for Kent's Pi Sigma Epsilon chapter and the American Marketing Association. Over the summer of 2024, I will be interning at the American Heart Association at the northeast Ohio office.

Hi, my name is Grace Costin, and I am the Construction Management Student Organization (CMSO) Social Media Coordinator for 2024-25. I am a sophomore Construction Management major and this is my first year as a board member. My name is Carmela McNall, and I am the Student Chapter/Competiton Chair. I am a 3rd year construction management major and have been a member of the Construction Management Student Organization since Fall 2022. I am also the current Social Chair of Alpha Rho Chi, a national academic fraternity for Architecture and the Allied Arts. I am eager to fulfill my role this academic year as I value peer to peer-to-peer education, a key component in student competitions. I wish everyone luck in their semester!

Jordan Smith
Hi! My name is Jordan Smith and I will be serving as the Events Chair for Kent State's Construction Management Student Organization. I am a sophomore currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management with a concentration in Mechanical and Electrical Management. This upcoming summer I have an internship with Blattner Energy. Last fall I participated in the MCAA student competition and plan on continuing it throughout this year as well. In my free time I like to work out or just hang out with friends. Hi all! My name is Kayla Usko, and I will be serving as your Events Chair for the 24' school year. I am a Construction Management major, with an interest in concentrating on sustainably. This semester I am also starting my first internship with Shook Construction. Last year, I participated in the Appalachian Service Project: Race to Build competition and look forward to traveling down to Tennessee again to compete. As event chair I am excited to take on this role and help in making the events we host educational, productive, and inspiring. I look forward to collaborating with the board and the students of the organization. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, going to basketball games, and playing board games. My name is Dan Mate and I'm your 2024-2025 CMSO Community Outreach Coordinator. I'm a Sophomore majoring in Construction Management. I have an associate in occupational science and have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. I'm the Appalachia Service Project (ASP) coordinator and team lead. I have also competed in the OCA competition. I'm a MES Journeyman in the UA Local 219. In my free time, I enjoy being a DJ, traveling, golfing, hunting, riding UTV's and spending time with my family and friends. Hi! My name is Matt Keleman and I’m a Second-Year Architecture Student with a minor in Construction Management. I’m so excited to represent Arch/ID students in the Kent State Construction Management Student Organization (CMSO). Last year, I was part of the team who placed first at UC New Builders (Commercial) and have been involved in various events/lectures. I hope to continue this year in competing in NAHB and UC New Builders (Residential). Aside from CMSO, I am also the President for the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) and a brother in Alpha Rho Chi, Severus. Hello, Everyone! My name is Michael Zerby and I will be taking on the role as one of our Volunteer Coordinators for the 2024-2025 academic year. I'm a Senior Construction Management major with an A.B.A. in Management. This year I'll be helping coach UC as well as providing assistance with the NAHB Productions, MCAA, and OAC student competitions. I'm currently working with Turner Construction, formally as a Safety Management Intern, and currently as an Engineering/ Superintending Intern. ​Hi everyone! My name is Nate Hudnell and I will be one of the volunteer coordinators for this upcoming school year. I am a junior Construction Management student and have participated in the Appalachia Service Project Race to Build and alternative spring break. I have completed two internships including a summer at Hilscher-Clarke Electric Company, in Canton, Ohio and Grunley Construction Company, in Washington DC. I am an Eagle Scout and have been volunteering anywhere I can my entire life. I can’t wait to see all of the wonderful projects we can provide the Kent community with! I'm Graham Richard. I'm a sophomore here at Kent, majoring in Construction Management. Hi, my name is Benjamin Smigel. I will be serving as Assistant Treasurer alongside Edison Chen for the 2024 - 2025 academic year. I am a senior with majors in finance and accounting. I currently have an accounting and finance internship with Quanex Building Products in Akron, OH. I am pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Construction Management at Kent State University. Along with my studies I am an undergraduate research student and web developer for the Center of Research on Sustainable Construction & Technology (CARSCT.com). I am a Board Member of the Kent State Construction Management Student Organization.. I am driven to develop, learn, and study strategies and methods to create more sustainable models in the construction industry. My goals are to apply these domains in the armed forces and federal government construction industries upon graduation in December 2025.
